Shipping Policies

Processing Times

We strive to pick, pack, and ship orders as fast as possible! For our in-stock inventory, orders placed before 12:00 PM EST on an outbound shipping day will ship that day. Orders placed after 12:00 PM EST will ship the subsequent outbound shipping day. Processing times may be delayed for exceptionally large or bulky orders. Outbound shipping schedule subject to change without notice or be updated in accordance with locally recognized holidays.

MiniCat Shipping

Given the amount of SKUs and sail colors available for MiniCats. All orders of boats that are not currently in stock will be ordered and shipped directly to the customer from the manufacturer. At the time of purchase, the order will be submitted for processing. Order processing generally takes 2-3 business days. Orders will be shipped shortly thereafter and tracking information will be sent to the customer. The typical elapse time from the day of the order until the customer receives their boat is 1-2 weeks. 

Transit Times

Shipments are predominantly sent via UPS Ground and FedEx Ground.  Transit times from our warehouse in Grosse Pointe, MI are between 5-7 business days. Transit times are calculated from the day the package is picked up from our warehouse. Our processing time is not included in the transit times above.

Shipping Methods

The vast majority of orders are shipped via UPS Ground.  Exceptionally large or bulky orders may be sent on pallets via LTL. 

Expedited shipping methods are available for an additional cost – please add a note to your order during checkout and we’ll contact you to provide options and rates.

Pick-ups

Local customers can pick up orders at our warehouse in Grosse Pointe, MI.  Please add a note to your order during checkout to request that we hold your order for pick-up.  Shipping fees will be voided.  Pick-ups are typically available according to our outbound shipping schedule (reference Processing Times section).  Please contact a Great Lakes Watercraft employee to schedule your warehouse pickup.

PO Boxes

UPS does not deliver to PO boxes.  If you enter a PO box as your shipping address when placing your order, a member of our Customer Service team will contact you to obtain a different shipping address.

Shipping Charges

Orders shipping to a location within the 48 contiguous states:

Estimated shipping rates are displayed in your shopping cart for all orders. Free shipping only applies to customers who purchase boats. All accessory and motor orders will automatically be charged for shipping at checkout.

Orders shipping to Hawaii or Alaska:

If you process an order with address in either Hawaii or Alaska, a Great Lakes Watercraft representative will contact you following your order with a shipping quote will be added to the invoice and subsequently charged to the customer. Great Lakes Watercraft does have favorable rates with carriers and shipping costs will be a direct pass through to customers. Contact a representative if a custom shipping solution is required. 

Delivery or Drop-off:

Upon request, a delivery or drop-off of a boat can be handled by the Great Lakes Watercraft team. Depending on the order and drop-off location, an additional flat-rate fee may also be charged to cover costs.

Address Correction

If you provide an incorrect or invalid shipping address when placing your order, UPS will attempt to correct the address so they can deliver your package(s). In this event, additional shipping charges for redirecting a shipment in progress will be invoiced and charged to the customer. Great Lakes Watercraft reserves the right to pass along any additional fees to the customer.

International Shipping

Canada:

Great Lakes Watercraft LLC is a US based company and Great Lakes Watercraft Canada LTD is a Canadian based company. Great Lakes Watercraft LLC does not ship to Canada and Great Lakes Watercraft Canada LTD does not ship to the US. Canadian customers can shop from inventory stored in Windsor, ON by visiting greatlakeswatercraft.ca.

All Other International Shipping Requests:

Orders shipping to a location in the Caribbean or Guam will be shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail. Orders of $450 or more will receive a 20% discount off of normal USPS Priority Mail rates. Orders less than $450 will be invoiced at normal USPS Priority Mail rates.
